Sugar price kept on moving up in February. Sugar production shall fall greatly in this campaign due to impact from the draughts, and this is positive for price hike. Meanwhile, the convening of the sugar conference in March also supports price. Both sugar price and profit rose in February from the last month substantially. The average price of white granulated sugar in the month was 5352 RMB/ton, up 149 RMB/ton from the last month; the average price of soft sugar was 5661 RMB/ton, up 73 RMB/ton from the last month. The average profit of cane sugar was 1513 RMB/ton, up 150 RMB from the last month; the average profit of beet sugar was 1306 RMB/ton, up 79 RMB from the last month.
